OPTIKinetics 50mm Cassette Effect Wheel

Insert, Spin & Project with the OPTIKinetics 50mm Cassette Effect Wheel – Animated Pattern Projections Compatible with OPTIKinetics Solar 100 & Solar 250 LED Projectors

Description

The OPTIKinetics 50mm Cassette Effect Wheel is the accessory that brings constantly shifting colour and movement to any Solar LED projector system. Fit it to your compatible 50mm Cassette Rotator on a Solar 100 LED or Solar 250 LED, point it at a wall, and watch a room across North America transform into something entirely different.

The cassette produces its effect through two layers of screen-printed glass. The inner layer stays fixed while the outer rotates, creating a continuously evolving moire pattern - rich with colour, endlessly varied in form, and deeply calming to watch. It is the kind of visual effect that has anchored sensory rooms, therapy spaces, and multi-sensory environments for decades.

Key Features of the OPTIKinetics 50mm Cassette Effect Wheel

• Two-Layer Screen-Printed Glass Construction - Each cassette comprises one static inner glass layer and one rotating outer layer, so the resulting moire pattern never repeats and always keeps moving - a genuinely dynamic visual effect rather than a looping image
• Multi-Colour Screen-Printed Design - Rich, varied colours are screen-printed directly onto the glass, producing vivid, saturated projections that shift in hue and intensity as the cassette rotates
• Constantly Changing Moire Pattern - The interaction between the fixed and rotating glass layers creates an organic, ever-changing kinetic effect that holds attention without overstimulating - well suited to calming sensory environments and therapeutic spaces
• 50mm Format - Compatible with OPTIKinetics Solar 100 LED and Solar 250 LED Projectors - The 50mm cassette is the current standard format, replacing the discontinued 3-inch cassettes; it is compatible with all OPTIKinetics Solar LED projectors using the 50mm Cassette Rotator
• OPTIKinetics 50mm Cassette Rotator - The OPTIKinetics 50mm Variable Speed Active Gate Cassette Rotator is required to use this cassette and is sold separately; it is not compatible with the older 3-inch cassette rotators or the Aura projector
• Not Compatible with the OPTI Aura Projector - This cassette is designed for OPTIKinetics Solar projectors only; it cannot be used with the Aura projector model
• Made in the USA - Manufactured to OPTIKinetics' quality and optical standards
• Manufacturer Warranty - Covered by a 1-year manufacturer warranty; an extended 3-year warranty is available upon product registration on the OPTIKinetics website

Understanding the OPTIKinetics Cassette vs. Wheel System

OPTIKinetics offers two effect formats for Solar projectors: 6-inch effect wheels and 50mm effect cassettes. Both produce projected visual effects, but they use different rotators and create different types of imagery. The 50mm cassette format produces abstract kinetic pattern effects - the moire-style colour movement this cassette is known for. The 6-inch wheel format covers a broader range of effects including liquid oil effects, picture and image projections, and beam effects. The two systems are not interchangeable - the 50mmCassette Rotator is required for cassettes, and the 6-inch wheel rotators are required for 6-inch wheels.

For sensory rooms and therapy environments, the cassette's continuously shifting colour pattern is often preferred for sustained calming use, while picture and liquid wheels may be rotated in for storytelling or themed sessions.
